Christmas Cards

These are the Christmas card I made my Mom this year, She loved the cow cards I made for her earlier in the year, so she wanted some for Christmas. I colored these with my Spectrum Noirs.
  I will be getting the rest of the markers for Christmas this year, so I will be sending in for my Spectrum certification.
Of course I spent all my time coloring my Moms cards that I am using card I have got in card swaps over the years for my cards.

If I don't get back on here before Christmas, I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas.

Slick Rock Country Emporium and Craft Club

Hi there, Sorry I have been on here we did a little vacation then I had some Carpel Tunnel Surgery.  For vacation, if we are not visiting family, we go to Chimney Rock- Bat Cave area in North Carolina. It is lovely there and they have a apple Slushie they is a life changing experience. The other thing we doing is go to the Slick Rock Country Emporium it is a destination all on own. We love it there, Is is a store in Bat Cave that has the best and unique Art you will ever see, a lot is from local artist.  We have become addict to the metal art they sell there. On the last trip we purchase this Flying Blue pig, we have several smaller flying pigs, along with some metal sunflowers. Actual Cindy and I are featured in a road side attractions article standing next to big Henry a giant metal chicken like the one in the photo above. If you near there make she you stop by and say hi to Clay and Becky and sit on the porch awhile.

There was also these light switch covers that I drooled over for way to long, they have, earrings and necklaces. All the gears move too.

We had Craft Club last weekend, and want an awesome project, as I said I had surgery on my hand so my project is not finished yet. But she had a food drive for My Sister's House the local Battered Woman's Shelter and I brought the most food so I won this. These flower were hand made by our host Cindy Phillips and all the vintage lace and bows, Just beautiful. I didn't see any in her Esty shop but I'm sure you could ask her to get some up. They are to pretty to give away, so I'll have to make a project for my self with them.

Mini Albums from vacation


This is a little 6x6 album I made for the friend who where at the wedding in the Keys. We all became family that week. It was an amazing time.

Front- used Bind it all to put it together. I was inspried by the Amazing Amber to
 use Acrylic for the cover. I love how it turned out.

 The brown paper on this page is the glassine paper from Tim Holtz, along with the Coorenation paper.

The Thread, at our church the person that leads the singing and keeps everything on schedule is call the thread. We had been without a pastor for a year and a half. these people become even more important. I make this card for my friend Deb, who is the Thread of our services and an awesome person to boot.

Great websites, there are a lot of them out there. But being a crafter means we start planning for Christmas, well like now. Cards to be designed and made, decor all those extra touches that make it special. Last year I posted a week site that had a list of when everything should be started and finished to not have a stress season. So that one along with the super cute ideas on this site Lemon Squeezy should be just prefect.

Well I brought this to work with me to post, and realized I didn't put a hole or lace on it, so I could add a hole, of course with a three hole punch, that did not turn out straight, so the moral of today is do not wait for the last mintue to finish your stuff and bring some ribbon to work for emergencies.

This is for Mo's love is in the air, I use Little Fairy #2, with some stacking and liquid pearls, my new found Love.

Alrighty now, who doesn't love the new Mo's Digital Pencil Stamp of the cow, Moo. I loved it so much I brought it right away. I knew my Mom would love them. My Mom and Dad still live on a farm up in Minnesota, they raise Beef cattle now. I grew up on a dairy farm. Thank you Mo for making awesome Digi's

Alright I got some Spectrum Noirs for my Anniversary so I have been coloring my but off, with a little help ( ok a lot of help) from Copic artist Amanda Phillips. This is my first submission to any challege so I'm just going to go for it.
I love Mo Mannings Digis, I was looking at buying a couple new ones and I asked Amanda if she would like anything, she said all of them. Which is my feeling too.

 So for Dancing and singing I got Big Whoop by Mo's Digital Pencil, the Background paper is dylusion sprays on photo paper. And a tree mat that I borrowed from Amanda.

Sorry I have not been around the last month, it been busy, and hard. And I got addicted to a facebook game. It's sad really. That I forfeit my creativity to play a mind numbing game for hours at a time. I have also been without a phone for two weeks. I have only had a smart phone for four months I have trying to go back to my old one. I don't know how I did it.

I'm also working on a charm exchange, but find it hard to get mine done now. I need a break I think.

Book Light

Had a bad week this week. Lost one of best friends this week, Becky you will be missed. She encouraged everyone she meet, I supplied her with cards. She would sent them to everyone. This is Becky with her new copier.  This picture always make me smile. I love ya Becky.

But while I'll was sitting at my desk I needed to create something,

 I had sent a book light on The Chive and I really wanted one,

so that is what I made this week.

Gutting the book.

I had to break down the bulb holder to fit inside the book, then I clamped it down and used Royal Coat Decoupage finish on the inside. then clamped the side and drilled a hole in the side. I added the switch and wired it up. If you need to see how I did that let me know. I used a lot of hot glue to hold everything in place and use as a strain relief for the cord.  

 And here is the final product, it looks great the pages on the outside look great.

I have been work on a gift for Susan in our craft Club, I decided to make her a necklace of different charms.

The blue one is a stone Bead soldered, stone heart bead wrapped in copper wire, Key, Small watch part tin, glass jar of with Soldered top, Jade Ball, copper pipe charm, copper toggle

The red is a jade leaf wrapped in copper wire, Chunk of steel ruler, Watch part tin, copper bird nest, Copper pipe with gears, brass flower with beads.

They are great fun to make if anyone would like to make them let me know.

Baby Shower

So these are what I made for a Baby Shower this week, I used extra streght Heat bond, the baseball boys is off a peice of fabric, I just cut out one of the designs, the tie I seen on pinterest, the little demin vest is my own design. I love how they turned out.

I only say that at work, but this is a really cute site, mostly because of the scrabble tiles, we have started playing this game at home, so now I want to but them on everything.

Mini Books Again

This is a little mini book I made for The atc's this year. I used transparency film for the pockets so you could still see the cards, This was my first try, I will make the sleeves long in the next book.

This was the mini book we made in January Craft club, thank you Debra. I based the ATC book on the same design as this one.

This is a little mini book for one of the ladies at work who is having a baby boy.

I love the little flower soft boy in it.

Not enough money

Once again I found of those websites that has such wonderful ideas I want to buy all their stuff. As you seen in my last blog post I started soldering pendants, well not I need pictures to put inside them. I'm sure there is a free site out there somewhere. Soldering

Well I fimally did it. I soldered a charm for a key ring, the only problem I have is I don't have any lead free solder so no necklace yet. But I coated it with fingernail polish it might be ok.

Garage Saleing

Last weekend we went to a garage sale and I have to say normally we just drive by and look but we actually spent an hour digging though this sale.

This is a gaint basket with some lisence plates, I found some old color pencils that will work great for a craft I have planned already, I found a little shelf and a wire basket all for ten bucks and three cd's too.

Skittled Pink

While a couple of us were hanging out at skittle Pink last week end we all started making a version of this Mini book from Following the Paper Trail. I loved how it turned out.. I'm trying to follow Admanda Phillips in doing 50 awesome projects this year. Also I'm just trying to up my game and finish project better. You know add those little details that makes it really great.
